More than 700 current band members and over 5,000 Band Alumni warmly welcome you to Iowa State University.  If you play an instrument, we invite you to become a member of our band program and join that tradition.

ISU’s choral program is recognized as one of the finest in the country and your choral experience here will undoubtedly be the highest artistic level of singing in your lifetime -- something to experience, something to cherish. 

Orchestras at Iowa State have a long tradition of excellence, and the ISU Orchestra Program continues this tradition by presenting exciting, intellectually stimulating and emotionally moving concerts every year. 

Featuring groups for brass, clarinet, flute, percussion, saxophone, and woodwind, ISU's chamber ensembles are a great way for students to get involved with their peers outside of the classroom!

Students can gain valuable experience in the field by participating in ISU Opera Studio. Iowa State University’s intensive, student-centered opera program allows students to interact with faculty who are still active in the field and prepare for careers in performance and education.

The Ames Piano Quartet has been Iowa State University’s chamber ensemble in residence since 1976. With numerous albums and tours that stretch across the globe, the ensemble has brought great pride to the Department of Music and Theatre for many years.
