A career in music or the performing arts allows you to be your authentic, creative self! Whether you decide to channel your passion into helping others as an educator, performing with a military band or opera company, or designing lighting and technical elements for the stage, your adventure awaits in the Department of Music and Theatre at Iowa State University.

Career planning and preparation

Looking for help in putting together the perfect resume or cover letter? Or maybe you are seeking an internship or mock interview practice for an upcoming job? LAS Career Services can help you with all of these and more.

All LAS students – which includes music and performing arts majors – also take a required career development course which will help you create a concrete plan on how to make your ideal career a reality.
