After working in a memory care unit of a nursing home, I was able to see firsthand how music benefits people with Alzheimer’s disease. This inspired me to learn more about music therapy, and how it could improve quality of life. In this report, I take a deeper look into what exactly Alzheimer’s disease is, how music therapy works, and how evidence-based research supports its use.
