What theatre projects are you working on right now? I'm playing the Stage Manager in Corners Grove at Iowa State, and over the summer I played T'Wana Jpeson in A Love Offering in a collaboration between Pyramid Theatre Company and the Des Moines Playhouse.
What is your favorite thing about your experiences at Iowa State? My favorite thing is the opportunities that I have been able to experience while being here, and the drive for my passion has increased even more.
Why did you choose the department of Music and Theatre at ISU? I find that the program is well-rounded and designed to give you a mix of theater training, performance skills and classic liberal arts knowledge; and there is also a good base of community.
What are your plans after graduation? I intend to move to Dallas, Texas, and continue to pursue acting (stage, film, tv, and voice) professionally as well as promoting awareness of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the theatre industry.
Any words of wisdom for prospective students? I would say that at the end of the day we all compare ourselves to others, but if you can get rid of those self sabotaging thoughts and focus on yourself, you will be a much happier human and actor. College is very individual and everyone is going at their own pace, so no matter what, never ever stop believing in yourself.
