A young boy, Gin Pallas, becomes fixated on the idea of entering into a pederastic relationship with his fourth grade teacher after reading “The Symposium” by Plato. More than a bit of a prodigy, Gin writes a book report that inspires Marshall, who is unsatisfied to be teaching grade-schoolers with his masters degree, to begin meeting with him after school to discuss the book. The platonic bond that they form ultimately has a profound effect on Marshall’s relationship with his wife, Vivica, and Gin’s relationship with his brother Jack, and his sister, Amy.
