Josh currently serves as a Lecturer of Music at Iowa State University where he runs the horn program and teaches brass methods. In addition to ISU, he teaches horn at Simpson College and maintains a private horn studio in Des Moines.
As an orchestral performer, Josh appears as 4th Horn with the Des Moines Symphony, 3rd Horn with the Quad City Symphony, 2nd Horn with the Lincoln Symphony and 4th Horn with the Dubuque Symphony.
In addition to performance and education, Josh has also had experience as an Arts Administrator. He served as Orchestra Manager of the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra for two years before settling in Des Moines. That experience led him to co-found a non profit in the Iowa City/Coralville area called Concertia; a performing arts organization with an aim to provide quality musical experiences by Iowans for Iowans.
Josh holds a B.M. in performance from the University of Iowa and a M.M. in performance from the University of Nebraska. Although he is partial to the Hawkeyes and Huskers, he is coming around to the idea of cheering on the Cyclones!
