Olivia Petsche is from Winterset, IA, and is pursuing dual majors in English and Music, with a planned graduation date of Spring 2025. Olivia’s interests are broad and diverse, with her involvement spanning across multiple disciplines. She is an Honors student, a Resident Assistant, and currently serves as the President of the Pre-Law Club. Beyond her leadership roles, Olivia founded and served as President of the Baking Club, worked as a LAS Student Ambassador, and contributed as a Student Advisor on the SVPSA Student Advisory Board.
In addition to her academic and extracurricular pursuits, Olivia is passionate about music, particularly the piano. She is preparing for an upcoming piano studio recital on November 19th, where she will perform Bach's "Prelude and Fugue in C minor, BWV 847" and Brahms' "Hungarian Dance No. 1" with her good friend and studio member, Rachel Luchsinger.
Olivia chose Iowa State's Department of Music and Theatre after participating in numerous memorable lessons with Dr. Huang, a key factor that solidified her decision to attend the university. She feels that being open and accepting of the many opportunities that have presented themselves during her time at ISU has prepared her to impact her community positively.
After graduation, Olivia plans to pursue law school, having already begun applying for Fall 2025. Her advice to prospective students is simple but powerful: "Be adventurous! You never know who you’ll meet or where you’ll end up."
