With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, complete with a live sound effects artist, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he contemplates his mortality one fateful Christmas Eve.

Concert Nov 14, 2018.  $5 admissionOur November concert will feature the Iowa State University Jazz Ensemble I with Des Moines’ own “Queen of Soul” Tina Haase Findlay in a tribute to Aretha Franklin. Ranked by Rolling Stone as the No. 1 greatest singer of all time, Aretha Franklin passed away in August, and Tina Haase Findlay will pay tribute to her artistry. In addition to backing Tina, the band will perform works by Lee Morgan, Tom Scott, and an original composition by Iowan David Sharp. The band will kick the concert off at 7:30 PM in the Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall. There is a $5 admission charge.
