Jazz Night : The Nutcracker Suite

Kick off the holiday season with a twist on a familiar tradition.  Jazz ONE will perform the famous “Nutcracker Suite” through the lens of two jazz luminaries, Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn.  The music performed will be a direct transcription of the original album from 1960 – same notes, same rhythms, same spirit.  Olivia Helton, concertmaster of the ISU Symphony Orchestra, will narrate the concert.  Leave your ballet shoes at home and join us on November 17 @ 7:30 in the Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall for an imaginative retelling of the iconic themes written by Tchaikovsky. 

Admission is $5.
