The Honor Percussion Ensemble Festival is open to all Iowa high school percussionists.
Every Spring semester the Department of Music and Theatre hosts a two-day Honor Percussion Ensemble.
We’re proud to present an opportunity for talented high school percussionists to perform in a select group under the leadership of ISU faculty.
The ensemble will be a select group consisting of roughly 8-12 members, chosen by submitted audition videos from among the finest high school musicians in the state. The chosen ensemble members come to ISU’s Simon Estes Music Hall to learn, rehearse, and present a final evening showcase concert. The Honor ensemble also shares the stage with the Iowa State University Percussion Ensemble. This is a unique experience not found anywhere else in the state.
