Prerequisite

Undergraduate status and permission of instructor. Audition through portfolio of original compositions that demonstrate fundamental abilities in musical notation and traditions of written musical forms.

Description

Completion of medium to large scale composition projects as determined by the instructor. Supporting score study and technical writing projects as related to the composition projects. May be repeated for credit.

The two-credit option is reserved primarily for undergraduate music majors preparing to enter the composition emphasis. The course is taught in classroom meetings or private tutorials at the discretion of the instructor.
