What is your favorite area of musical involvement? Marching Band, without a doubt! It has been the foundation for some of my strongest friendships, and I love the thrill of performing a show as well as the craziness that is a game day.

What interests you about TBΣ? The overall attitude and sense of community of the group has appealed to me the most; everyone has been so great! I also love to give my time to benefit groups/organizations and causes that deserve it, and the band program here at Iowa State is certainly something worth supporting.

Tell us something we don't know about you. I can meow just like a kitten. I can also quack fairly well and coo.

What's your favorite band memory? One of my favorite marching band memories is from high school. After a good rehearsal, my director had us set down our instruments carefully and told us to reach as high as possible. Everyone raised their hands as far up as they could, several even on their toes. Then, he said, 'Now reach higher.' Everyone was able to reach a little further, pushing to be up on the very tips of their toes, myself included. He looked around and told us, 'You can always reach higher than you think you can. You're in an excellent position for competition, but you can always strive for further improvement as individuals and as a band.' As part of the ISUCF'V'MB, my favorite memories consist of the reactions I observe from students, fans, and those of the opposing team. It makes me happy when fans come up to us with joy when we tailgate, or when opposing fans comment on the quality of our performances and the energy we bring to Jack Trice. There was once when I found an anonymous post online from a student thanking us after a 'no-case' night as they were on their way to a potentially difficult exam and our playing boosted their mood; this in particular filled me with gladness that I was part of an group that can make such positive influences in people's lives.
