Organized in 1948, Iowa State Singers is the select concert choir of Iowa State University. The choir is well known for performing the finest choral literature from the past five centuries. It has built a national reputation through its artistry and its extensive touring. The Iowa State Singers have performed throughout Iowa, across the United States, to include New York's Carnegie Hall, and in Western Europe, the former Soviet Union, and Poland. In 1998 the Choir celebrated its fiftieth anniversary with a two-week tour in Australia, and in May 2003 toured to Scandinavia and the Baltics. In addition, the Iowa State Singers performed at the 2004 North Central ACDA Convention in Sioux Falls, SD, the 2005 ACDA National Convention in Los Angeles, CA, the 2008 NCCO National Convention in Cincinnati, OH, and will perform at the 2009 ACDA National Convention in Oklahoma City, OK.

The choir has also been recognized for its performances with world-renowned conductors and symphony orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Cleveland Orchestra. In April 1995, Singers had the distinct honor to sing for the President and Vice President of the United States. In addition the ensemble has collaborated with the Des Moines Symphony Orchestra, performing Mahler's Ressurrection Symphony and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.
