Make checks payable to Iowa State Bands. Welcome to the third Iowa State University Marching Band Drumline CD. This recording presents some unusual offerings as we have included numerous warm-up exercises, special features, and many of our current cheers. Some of the selections are presented several times. For example, our TA5 exercise is included with four different versions. First, the entire line performs TA5, and then the bass drums perform with cymbals alone. Finally, the cymbals and basses perform their parts alone. We have also included a cymbals-only version of our most popular cadence, "Homey The Jam" along with snare and tenor section solos. Throughout the history of any performing organization, certain persons will always be revered and remembered for their contribution. One such member was Robert Guinn. In my sixteen years at Iowa State, no single person has contributed as much as Mr. Guinn. His leadership, his teaching and his buoyant personality can be heard every time this drumline performs. In honor of his legacy we have included two cadences from our second CD, "True Anomaly" and "Bob", as well as previously unreleased 2001 recordings of the bass drum section alone. Finally, we have included previously unreleased performances of "Xylophonia" and "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" arranged for mallet ensemble and bass drum line by Mr. Guinn.
