ISU Orchestra Program 2012 – 2013 Season

Tuesday - February 12, 2012 10:00 am | CY Stephens
Children's Matinee Concert

Bates Mothership for Orchestra and electronica
Respighi Pines of Rome

The Ames International Orchestra Festival Association presents the ISU Symphony as a part of the 201-2013 Iowa State Center's Youth Matinee Series. Jacob Harrison, ISU Director of Orchestral Activities, continues to wow Youth Matinee students with his humor and ability to connect with young audience members.   With Harrison leading the 80-member ISU Symphony Orchestra in a narrated program designed to educate as well as entertain, students will learn about the various instrument families and explore basic music concepts.

This special performance allows young audiences to feel the excitement of a full symphony orchestra, enjoy the emotions inspired by the music and discover that putting teamwork and practice together can yield amazing results.  An instrument petting zoo immediately following the performance is a chance to see and hear the unique sounds of individual instruments up close.
