2006 All State Band - TrumpetMusic SamplesHints from Dr. James Bovinettep. 39 Allegro amorosoPlay the exercise at an allegro tempo that will allow you to effectively handle double-dotted rhythms. My advice is to try to lift the dotted sixteenth notes and emphasize the thirty- second note when executing these passages. Watch the double sharp at the top of each double dotted run on line six. p. 18 G MinorThere is some confusion regarding the tempo indication for this exercise. My dictionary says that "Lento" falls between "Adagio" and "Andante." Adding to the confusion is the indication (in 8.) My guess is that the composer is asking for "Lento" that is felt in 8. Since the exercise is marked common time my understanding would be a subdivided 4/4, counted in 8, quarter note around 60 beats per minute, and not 8/8 with the eighth note at 60 beats per minute. |
